She always sees what I missed." |
Working one on one with Abby Leora Rohrer is a powerful transformational experience.
With Abby's compassionate, non-judgmental and expert guidance, you will resolve years of old conditioning, break through your compulsive hair pulling and learn to listen to your inner voice. Abby will empower you to maintain your individuality and to have confidence in your own judgment.
Her powerful teaching focuses on the emotional, psychological, spiritual and physical wellbeing of each and every student. Abby helps you to move from negative habitual behaving and relating to freedom and living in your own truth. She teaches you to acknowledge your true worth and your authentic emotions so you no longer need to cope with life through a self-harming behavior like compulsive hair pulling, or engaging in painful relationships.
Abby Rohrer’s mission is to help you or, if you’re a parent to help your child, get fully free from hair pulling. She will help you to single-mindedly pursue this goal and help you get to the finish line as fast as possible. In an age when most professionals would rather have you become more dependent on them, Abby’s mission is just the opposite—to help people to throw off the bonds of dependency.
Abby is not a doctor or psychologist. Abby’s gift is to quickly help you detect your “core reasons” for hair pulling and to provide you with a plan and necessary tools to free yourself forever from the problem.
A personal consultation with Abby differs from psychotherapy and hypnosis, doesn’t include “band aid” approaches, behavior modification, getting on with life in spite of hair pulling, charting hairs pulled, EMDR, Emotional Freedom Technique, affirmations or “positive thinking.”
Abby’s sessions begin with an inventory-taking and an opportunity for you to you briefly share your history. She will then direct and guide you to hone in, asking specific questions and scouting for your original hair-pulling trigger. Once this is uncovered, she will make specific detailed suggestions to help move you into the next phase of healing. You’ll want to “laser” your responses so that Abby can help you to uncover the maximum amount of information in each session.
Sessions with Abby are not open-ended, but are directive. Abby works within a unique framework to guide you to find your core causes and to release them as quickly as possible. If you are already working toward ending your hair pulling using a different method, one session with Abby may allow you to more directly achieve your goal of full healing rather than “shooting in the dark” with approaches that cannot fully resolve the problem.
During your initial consultation, Abby will take you through a discovery
process to help you uncover the hidden elements in your life that have literally set you up to become a hair puller. She will also help you to understand why doing it was a logical and valid "decision" for you at that time. If you are the parent of
a hair pulling child, Abby will go through this same process with you to help you see why your child became a hair puller and what you can do to help your child to heal.
This discovery process is not an exact science and is dependent on your
willingness to assist in the process. Abby can make no guarantees about when you will discover the cause(s). But she is more than confident - you will. Many hair pullers have connected with it in one session and the great majority do so in 2-3 sessions. Just as she has helped Esti, Jan, Perry and hundreds of others, she can help you too.
But discovery is only the beginning. Once the underlying issues have been uncovered, you will still need to release the compulsion for good. You may wish to purchase additional consultations to receive suggestions or direction from Abby to get to that level of healing and freedom for you or your child.
Abby Leora Rohrer is an international expert on ending trichotillomania. Abby is a former 27 year compulsive hair puller who found her way to freedom over 14 years ago. When years of therapy failed to help her to stop, Abby finally took her healing into her own hands and taught herself how to end compulsive hair pulling for good!
"Abby has a delightful, warm, clear speaking voice. She is calm and a joy to work with. She listens and picks up immediately on what I say and this helps to get to the point of things. She knows her material and how to help students go where we need to go." "Abby, you have been amazing!" "There are truly not enough words to express my gratitude to Abby. I was so skeptical in the beginning, but now I truly believe this is the ONLY way to heal--from the inside." "Abby is so good at leading you in the direction towards healing, teaching you to trust youself, follow your instincts, and do what feels right for you." "Thanks, Abby, for cracking the code on trichotillomania. The world needs to hear about what you're doing for people." |
Abby is the author of "What's Wrong With Pulling My Hair Out?", "Why Won't My Child Stop Hair Pulling?" and the creator of the Pull-Free, At Last!™ Healing System and TrichotillomaniaFree™ Women's University. She has successfully mentored students around the world to permanently end hair pulling.

Frankly, no one is more knowledgeable than Abby Rohrer in ending trichotillomania or understanding the core issues of compulsive hair pulling. Many therapists actually consult with Abby to get her expert advice to assist them in helping their hair pulling clients.
"I think what would be absolutely fantastic would be facilitation training for therapists like myself. I know you say you're not 'a trained therapist or doctor' but what you do works and more therapists should be working this way!" |
Many of Abby's students come to her after years of medication, behavior therapy, hypnosis and counseling failed to produce results. The fact is, there is no known medical cure for trichotillomania. Doctors don't know what causes it or how to end it. If you see a psychiatrist, he will likely prescribe medication or behavior therapy, neither of which are proven to help with hair pulling.
But, it's still a good idea to be aware of any other psychiatric conditions that may co-exist or contribute to your trichotillomania. If you do have another psychiatric diagnosis, or if you have any mood, behavior or situaion that is dangerous you you or others, Abby urges you to work with your doctor or counselor while she teaches you to heal.
All private mentoring sessions with Abby take place over the telephone or via a Skype call. Preparing a list of questions is a good idea for your first session, if you prefer but it isn't a necessity. You really don't need to bring anything to your call, although new students are encouraged to fill out a questionnaire so that Abby can get familiar with your problem and your history beforehand. This will make the time she spends with you even more productive.
"I parent differently because of your message. My children benefited because I came to understand the importance of doing my own work, the different approaches to healing that therapy alone can never reach, and the essential, critical nature of being SHOWN healing in the family system itself, not just being told to heal by a parent. "I will not only pray for the distribution of this significant message of yours, but also volunteer to be part of any testimony to parents who need to hear this as they choose to "helplessly" watch their children act out pain. I would BOLD this message if it did not seem crass, but I hope you hear it in bold. You are needed, appreciated, and I urge you to never give up." |
Abby works one on one with parents to help them to understand the personality types common in compulsive hair pulling children, the family climates and life situations that can lead to long term hair pulling. She shares her expert knowledge with parents gained from years of working with long-term adult hair pullers and helps parents to shift any dynamic that may be contributing to a child's need to pull. Abby does not currently work one on one with hair pullers under seventeen.
Abby's approach is to help parents to heal any unhealed issues within the parent's life and relationship style that may be contributing to their child's need to pull. Abby has found that this is the most productive approach for ending hair pulling in younger children. Abby also works with parents of teenage hair pullers to assist them with the special challenges of helping a teenager to end hair pulling.
Sessions must be prepaid via credit card. As soon as your payment is received your appointment can be scheduled. We require a 48 hour cancellation notice of scheduled calls.
